HST 85

The new Aluplast HST 85 mm lift-and-slide door is unique on the market: it is available in three different variants, depending on the requirements for thermal insulation: from the Basic version, through the Standard version, to the Premium version, which meets the highest requirements for passive houses.

One system – three solutions

On the one hand, the new HST 85 mm door system is a response to expectations in terms of creating larger window structures, and on the other hand, through design changes, and above all the possibility of using wider glass packets with a width of up to 51 mm, making it possible to achieve above-average thermal insulation properties. A novelty in this segment is the modular nature of the design, which allows three free product configurations, depending on the expected thermal performance.

HST 85 mm Fixframe. Even more light

The new HST 85 Fixframe system solution, with its very narrow frame in the fixed glazing section, fulfils the demand for maximising glazed areas, increasing the amount of light entering the room and making efficient use of heat energy from the sun.
FF_Stand-7454.jpgThanks to the freedom to choose between different combinations of profiles in the lintel section of the door and in the threshold section, we have a choice between three options: Basic, Standard and Premium, which are aimed at different target groups with varying thermal insulation requirements.

Due to the increase in the depth of the leaves used in HST balcony door constructions to 85 mm, the sealing node at the overlap line between the sections of the moving and fixed parts was also modified. The flat gasket used to date has been replaced by a tubular EPDM gasket. By slightly increasing the values of the operating forces required to close the leaf completely, this resulted in a significant increase in the airtightness of the joint.

Thermal properties of HST 85 doors

Changes in the design of the sections have allowed a significant improvement in the thermal permeability of the profile combinations, which, depending on the selected option, makes it possible to obtain the weighted average value of the heat transfer coefficient Uf = 1.5 W (m2*K) in the Basic version, Uf = 1.3 W (m2*K) in the Standard version and Uf = 1.1 W (m2*K) in the Premium version.

The currently tested value of the Q100 coefficient allows the Aluplast HST 85 mm doors made in configuration A to be classified as class 4 airtight according to the PN-EN 12207:2001 standard, which, in accordance with the requirements of technical and construction regulations regarding air permeability, allows these structures to be used in all types of buildings.
aluplast_HST_85_uszczelnienie.jpgDepending on the requirements and the buyer’s expectations, three different threshold solutions can be used in the construction of Aluplast HST 85 mm balcony doors.

The threshold in the “Basic” version is made of aluminium with the exception of a small PVC-U element on the inside. The threshold in the “Standard” version has a similar design, but the aluminium parts are separated by a polyamide thermal break. The “Premium” version of the threshold is made entirely of glass fibre reinforced GRP. In addition, all chambers of the threshold are filled with PU foam, which further enhances the thermal performance of the element by reducing the value of the linear thermal bridge within the structure’s threshold without compromising its structural rigidity.

A barrier-free threshold?

niski_prog_hst_aluplast.jpgThe HST door is a modern and secure solution, designed to eliminate barriers. The low door threshold of 48 mm, which can be recessed from the room side along its full height, meets the requirements for architecturally barrier-free construction and allows trouble-free entry and exit. Thanks to special overlays, it is also possible to level the threshold with the floor surface and thus completely eliminate architectural barriers.
